EmpowHERto Receives Recognition Award

We are excited to share that EmpowHERto has received a recognition award presented by the Dunamis Palace for our organization’s impact on our community. This award acknowledges EmpowHERto’s efforts to serve young minority women and girls in Toronto, providing them with the opportunity to build futures in the industries of tech, health, and business. Our programs are specifically geared towards build developing knowledge, skills, and confidence required to thrive in their future interests and careers. 

Through our impactful initiatives like EmbraceHER, Finance4HER, CodeHER, LeadHER and many more, we have worked tirelessly to empower young marginalized women and girls to break down barriers. This award is a true reflection of the dedication and hard work our team, volunteers, and community members have put into creating a brighter future for the next generation of female leaders

Anekie Nembhard, Program Manager of our AdvisHER initiative, accepted this award from Dumanis Palace on behalf of EmpowHERto. Dumanis Palace, a church located in North York, is committed to providing a safe and inclusive space of worship. They are committed to fostering a diverse and equitable environment and are involved extensively in the community, partnering with many local organizations to create a “legacy of hope and promise to future generations.” For both their recognition of our work and their own contributions, we extend our sincere gratitude. 

We are also grateful for the support from our community, partners, and donors who believe in our mission. This award strengthens our resolve to keep pushing forward and creating a world where every young minority woman has the tools and confidence to reach her full potential. Our commitment to supporting minority girls in Toronto remains unwavering, and we are excited to share that we are only just beginning to scratch the surface of what we can achieve for our community!

Receiving this award has significantly fueled our momentum, and we invite you to stay tuned for our upcoming initiatives in 2025.
