We are thrilled to announce we’ve received a new grant to support our Financial Finesse program. This initiative has been made possible thanks to the generous support of TD Bank Group (TD).

“TD is thrilled to work with EmpowHERto and support the Financial Finesse program,” says James Attard, District Vice President for Toronto West at TD Canada Trust. “The program will help inspire and empower the next generation of community leaders, and underpins our mission to help people live their lives with greater financial confidence through access to early learning opportunities and financial literacy education.”

Financial Finesse aims to empower girls with the tools and resources they need take charge of their financial futures. This grant will enable us to continue and implement new program initiatives, including a series of interactive and engaging workshops that cover a wide range of financial literacy topics such as, budgeting, money management and saving.

“As a young, minority woman living in the era where self-employment and entrepreneurship are becoming the norm, the existence of a program like Financial Finesse is highly important,” says Aishah Sonekan, Board Intern at EmpowerHERto.

“Being a member of the EmpowHERto Board of Directors and having the opportunity to advocate for financial intelligence as an essential ingredient for successful young women especially those from minority groups is a privilege I do not take for granted. The presence of Financial Finesse as a resource for young women empowers them with knowledge and in turn financial freedom. As my generation will say, TD sponsoring the Financial Finesse program allows us to get that bag!”

We would like to thank TD for their continuous support of our mission to empower girls’ financial confidence.

Be sure to follow us on Instagram where we will be sharing exciting updates on the program in the upcoming weeks!
