5 Books to Inspire Your Inner Leader

While performing in the choir, attending a student council session, or participating in another school activity, did you ever feel that you should be the one leading it? Did you do anything about it? Or did you doubt yourself?

If this describes you or someone you know, EmpowHerto is here for you. We know, that becoming a leader can be challenging, but hey, it’s not unachievable. You, yes, you can be a leader at your school, in your community, or at your workplace, and EmpowHerto will guide you in your journey of success!

Leaders are made, not born…and you are one!

The first two steps you should take to become a leader are to identify your strengths and work on your “weaknesses.” To help you out, EmpowHerto staff have consulted online sources to come up with a 5-step approach to evaluate your true self. Let’s begin!

1. Identify the areas in your life that you excel at

Do you have a natural talent for drawing or speaking in public? Sometimes we downplay our strengths because we don’t recognize them as being unique. Take a good look at what you enjoy doing and are good at and write down a list on a piece of paper.

2. Build your strengths

Can you answer the question: “I am good at…?” If not, ask a friend or close family member for help. Other people in our lives often observe things that we don’t see about ourselves.

3. Track and work on the things you need to improve

Is lack of confidence holding you back from expressing your ideas? Try to build your confidence by joining online groups of people with similar interests. Interacting with others with similar interests or causes you care about can really increase your confidence level.

4. Explore opportunities

Get involved in various community activities and take that first step with EmpowHERto to empower yourself.

5. Initiate self-evaluation

You are your best judge. After completing a task or activity ask yourself, how did it go? Don’t be too hard on yourself. It’s a process and you did a great job! Well done, Gorgeous! Way to go!

To further help you along, here are five books that will inspire you to become a great leader!
